Winter Solstice marks the point of the shortest day, when there the least sunlight and winter begins. Many ancient cultures regarded evergreens as a symbol of eternal life and renewal. Stags, who shed their antlers each spring, were other signs of the annual mystery of rebirth. Original design ©Sid Reger.
Poem by Tonia Mathew on back:

Candles burn. Songs call the light:
"Return, touch our hearts."
